ARDO is a leading company in the food sector, specializing in the production, processing, and distribution of frozen vegetables, fruits, and carbohydrates. With an international presence, it stands out for its commitment to sustainability, quality, and food safety.
For years, Ardo has been working with a continuous improvement philosophy that is deeply rooted on the shop floor. In fact, their approach goes back a long way: over 25 years of applying methodologies like TPM (Total Production Management) and operational standardization, with a clear mindset of measuring, learning, and optimizing.
The goal of the MESVIEW project at ARDO was to achieve real-time production traceability, enabling accurate monitoring of each stage of the process
Before implementing MESView, Ardo recorded production data and incidents on paper. And while that information was useful for reviewing results, it had a critical limitation: it didn’t allow them to act in time.
Additionally, the goal was to monitor equipment performance using OEE, digitize production logs to go paperless, and finally, automate both quality control and incident management—thereby improving operational efficiency and reliability.
Results obtained
After years of use, MESView has established itself as a core tool in Ardo’s daily management, becoming that ‘common language’ that allows plant managers to make decisions based on data rather than perceptions.
The main leap has been shifting from reactive to proactive management: today, they review KPIs and target deviations daily during production meetings, and downtime and incidents are no longer open to subjective interpretation—they have become standardized, actionable data (actual duration, cause, recurrence, and action priority)
Additionally, digitization has drastically reduced paperwork and administrative burden, while simultaneously increasing the volume and quality of available data.
This comprehensive approach helps sustain continuous improvement by tracking incidents, projects, impact, and savings to better prioritize actions
